What is a scar?

If you are wondering where the word scar is coming from, the answer is schara. It's a Greek word which means place of fire. Scarring is actually part of the natural body healing process. It usually occurs when the skin gets severely damaged. The deeper the wound, the more chance you'll be left with a scar. In case of just a superficial wound, you shouldn't worry about it.

The type of the scar usually depends on:

-the 'ability' to produce certain scars (some people easily produce hypertrophic scars)
-place on the skin
-type of injury
